Day by day itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Thessaloniki

We will meet you at Thessaloniki airport and take you to the hotel, which is located in the centre of the city. Depending on your arrival time you might have time for a city walk, coffee or lunch. We will also might do all motorcycle paperwork, to be ready for riding next morning! In the evening you will meet the rest of the group for the welcome dinner, where we will have a quick briefing of our tour schedule.

Day 2

Thessaloniki - Ouranoupolis (150km)

We will start with some easy b-roads to get used to traffic conditions, but soon we will arrive at the foothills of Holomon mountain. The main road goes around the mountain and has nice curves - but there is also an optional ride through the forest - more demanding with tighter turns. Both roads will get us to Arnea, a very nice little town. After a short stop at Aristotle's park, we will meet the coastal road to Ierissos and finaly Ouranoupolis. As we will arrive early in the afternoon, you will have time for a swim in the fantastic beaches of the area.

Day 3

Rest day - Loop ride Sithonia (230km)

Sithonia peninsula is well known for it's beaches, but it also has a fantastic twisty road ideal for motorcycles. The road runs between the forest and the beaches and it is always a pleasure to ride.

Those who do not want to ride can spend the day on the beach or take a boat tour around Mt. Athos.

Day 4

Ouranoupolis - Kerkini (170km)

Riding next to the sea we will pass from Stagira - Aristotle's birthplace. The curvy road will soon take us to Stavros, where we will have a coffee stop and a visit to a nearby post-Byzantine church with exceptional architecture. We will continue on small B-roads to Nigrita and soon we will arrive at Lake Kerkini - The last 15km to the hotel is a lovely ride next to the lake shore...

Day 5

Rest day - Loop ride Lake Kerkini (0 -140km)

For those who wish to relax, there are many activities available in the area, like boat or canoe tours, mountain bike, horse riding.... For those who like to ride, we will visit some nice villages on Mt. Belles or we can ride around the lake...

Day 6

Kerkini - Naousa (170km)

Today we will ride next to the borders! A small twisty road will take us to through Paiko mountain to the small and lovely town of Goumenissa, famous for the local wine and brass bands. Next on the schedule is ancient Pella - birthplace of Alexander the Great. The final part of the ride to Naouss is easy and relaxing, through fruit tree farms.

Day 7

Naousa - Prespa lakes(170km)

From Naousa we will head further west, to the magnificent settlement of Nymfeo - on of the most beautiful traditional settlements in Greece, high on a mountain slope, surrounded by oak forest. After lunch we will ride to Florina and then Agios Germanos in Prespa lakes - the whole route is ideal for motorcycle touring, with lots of curves and turns, nice views and minimum traffic..

Day 8

Prespa lakes - Zagori (240km)

First stop of the day is Kastoria - a nice town by the lake with 40+ Byzantine churches and many old mansions...Then, the straight parts of road finish...We will ride to Pentalofos for lunch and then to Konitsa for a photo on the famous stone bridge, before we enter the area of Zagori with the impressive scenery and stone build villages...

Day 9

Rest day - Loop ride Zagori area

You could stay at the hotel and relax, but this is an area not to miss, so we suggest that you ride - at least to a couple of nearby villages. We will make a long loop of the area, riding fantastic small mountain roads and stopping lots of time for photos and sightseeing - We will return to the hotel in the afternoon. Highlight of the day? Vickos Gorge of course...

Day 10

Zagori - Aspropotamos (170km)

We will ride Zagori area West to East to get to Metsovo - a small town with tasty local cheese and traditional wooden handicrafts..From Metsovo we will take a small road that will get us to the area of Aspropotamos, with the deep valleys, beautiful forests, stone build churches, friendly people and twisty roads...

Day 11

Aspropotamos - Portaria (260km)

We will start the day with lots of curves to get to the famous Meteora - a UNESCO world heritage site. We will spend the morning sightseeing the monasteries and then we will head east, towards the Aegean coast, from easy and fast routes. We will pass Volos, and with a final demanding climb to Mt Pelion we will reach our hotel in Portaria

Day 12

Rest day - Loop ride Mt Pelion

Mt Pelion offers everything a biker needs : It combines mountain with sea, forest with sandy beaches, great challenging roads, tasty food and picturesque villages...We will spend the day riding around the area, enjoying the beauty of Mt. Pelion.

Day 13

Portaria - Thessaloniki ( 280km)

Those who like to arrive in Thessaloniki early and spend the day in the city can use the National road. But there are some nice small roads we can add to the route and make the trip more interesting. In any case we will be in Thessaloniki early enough for an afternoon walk before our good buy dinner...

Day 14

Departure from Thessaloniki

Depending on the time of your departure, you can enjoy a short tour in Thessaloniki, or just a coffee in the beautiful promenade. We will be happy to accompany you and show you more about our home town before we transfer you to the airport for your flight home

    Thessaloniki is not only known as a n UNESCO world heritage site because of the numerous Byzantine monuments, but also as a very live city, with excellent food and and intense nightlife

  2. Naousa

    Naousa is the city of wine, and birthplace of Dionysus. It is also the place where many Macedonian tombs were discovered, and the place Aristotle was teaching Alexander the Great!

  3. Lake Kerkini

    Lake Kerkini area is one of the most important European wetlands and birdwatching destinations, but also a great place to relax or take part in adrenaline rush activities.

  4. Vergina - UNESCO world heritage site

    Vergina was just a small village near Naousa, but today is famous around the world because of the Royal Tombs and the Palace of Phillip II, Alexanders' father.

  5. Meteora - UNESCO World Heritage site

    Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage site, a wonder of nature and human faith. Monasteries dating back to 12th century build on the top of vertical rocks is not a common sight!

  6. Halkidiki

    Halkidiki is a world known holiday destination with amazing beaches. With Ouranoupolis - the gate to Mt Athos (Holy Mountain) as a base we will ride the amazing coastal road of Sithonia peninsula, to some of the most amazing beaches....

  7. Zagori area

    The area of Zagori is unique...High mountains, Vikos Gorge -one of the worlds steepest gorges and the magnificent stone buildings and bridges will steal your heart.

  8. Mt Pelion

    Mountain Pelion was home of the Centaurus, and today is a great place to visit all year round, as it combines the green of the forest and the tree farms with the gold and blue of the beaches and the sea.
